CCPA Compliance

Crypto Croissant is committed to respecting your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). This page explains how these laws apply to our website and how you can exercise your rights as a California resident.

Scope and Applicability

The CCPA/CPRA applies to California residents whose personal information is collected by businesses that meet certain criteria. While Crypto Croissant does not sell or share personal information for monetary gain, we may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our content. As an informational blog with no user registration or account system, we do not maintain a database of personally identifiable information. However, we recognize your rights under California law and have implemented processes to honor them.

Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA

As a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Know: You may request details about the categories of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
  • Right to Delete: You may request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. While we do not sell personal information, we use third-party analytics tools that may be considered as sharing under CPRA.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: You may exercise your rights without being denied goods or services, charged different prices, or given a different level of service.
  • Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

How We Comply

We do not collect or store personal information through user accounts or registration. The only data we collect automatically includes:

  • IP addresses (anonymized)
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and time spent on site
  • Cookie identifiers for analytics and functionality

We use Google Analytics and similar tools with IP anonymization enabled. We do not link this data to individual identities. We do not sell personal information, and we have implemented a mechanism to honor opt-out requests for data sharing.

Data We Process

Under CCPA/CPRA, the personal information we may process includes:

  • Internet or other electronic network activity information (e.g., pages viewed, clicks)
  • Device identifiers and cookies
  • Geolocation data (approximated from IP address)

We do not collect, store, or process names, email addresses, phone numbers, or financial information.

Legal Basis for Processing

Our processing of data is based on legitimate interests: improving website functionality, understanding user engagement, and delivering relevant content. We do not rely on consent for these activities under CCPA/CPRA, but we honor opt-out requests as required by law.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise your rights under CCPA/CPRA, please contact us via email at [email protected] with the subject line: “CCPA Request.” Include your full name and city of residence. We will verify your identity by matching your email address with the one you use to contact us. If you are using an authorized agent, please provide written proof of authorization.

Response Timeframes

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If more time is needed, we will notify you and explain the reason for the delay. We may extend the response period by an additional 45 days if necessary.

No Discrimination Policy

We will not deny you access to our website, charge you different rates, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised your CCPA/CPRA rights.

We may update this CCPA Compliance page periodically. Any material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. We recommend reviewing this page occasionally.
